YouTube Viewing Monday

Our next SNATS meeting is Monday, April 11. We'll have a guided YouTube tour again: post aria requests here if you have them. Everyone in Dr. Kris's studio is REQUIRED to attend...if you cannot make it, listen to one hour of classical singing this month and journal briefly on it. You can do this with YouTube, other videos, CDs, or whatever you choose.

Our featured guest speaker, Dr. Jeanie Darnell, is confirmed to come to present on the changing adolescent voice on March 23-24. We'll talk specific scheduling soon.

Exercise and the Singer

My trainer has offered to do a workshop on exercise and what works best for the singer. Interested? He'll do it for a reasonable fee, and we have money in the budget for it. Post here if you want it.

SNATS Monday 2/7/11

SNATS this Monday, 2/27/11 at 3pm in the Choral Room: we'll watch THE AUDITION, which follows the 2007 Met Competition finalists. A rare backstage look! Let me know if you want me to bring food: we have money in the budget.

First Meeting

The first meeting is cancelled because UAB is cancelled due to the poor weather conditions. Next Monday, January 17, 2011 is also not a viable option since we're out for MLK day. That means our first meeting will likely have to fall on January 24, 2011 which is rather late, so the officers and Dr. Kris will talk about meeting times and we'll try to figure out if an alternative date would be better or if January 24th is just fine--Post here if you have ideas and input you want to give. More to come in the future. Everyone be safe out there!

First SNATS Meeting

Hey everybody,

It's time to get back in the swing of things! This monday, January 10, 2011, will be our first meeting of the New Year and new semester (weather permitting--no school, no meeting). The plan is to just rehash the changes we made at the very end of last semester and continue thinking about its implementation, this time with Dr. Kris present to help us. Additionally, we can discuss a new idea I have...a surprise that I think will be a good thing.

See you then! Remember, meetings are in HC308 (the choir room) after Concert Choir at 3:00PM.
